From a kind gesture to the ultimate test of time
Lira and Omesh’s love story had us hooked! Starting off with him asking her if she could use a hand, only to be handed 5 years of long distance as she jetsetted across the US to complete her residency, their story took full flight with their fabulous destination wedding in Los Cabos. With their team of All Star vendors, they packed their bags and hosted 290 guests in Baja California Sur at the brand new Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos. From photoshoots at the dramatic Cape to moments with their bridesmaids and groomsmen in the desert with camels to a holi party on the beach to their stunning floral-adorned wedding at Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, this one is definitely worth the read!

Do you need a hand?
We first met in 2013 in Fort Worth. It was really cheesy and my memory is vague but we were both in the hospital on the same unit when Omesh offered me help but I declined thinking “who is this guy asking me if I need help… do I look like I need help??” …. We later ended up at the same social event hosted by one of our attendings. We hit it off right away but the timing didn’t seem right. I had just found out that I was going to Detroit for a 5 year residency! Omesh stuck it through with me for my entire medical training long distance. I ended up in California for a 1 year fellowship before moving back to Texas, finally! So all in all before getting married… 6 years of dating!
The proposal
Omesh proposed at the top of Pena Palace, a very colorful historical castle in Portugal. It was beautiful! It felt like we were in the clouds and had a photoshoot in the mist! We did a family engagement about a year later and then started researching wedding venues!

We had always talked about a destination wedding. We both wanted to be unique and no one in our family had a destination wedding before. We knew it would also take a lot of stress off of our families. Our choice for Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos was by a process of elimination.
Our new friends at Shaadi Destinations were definitely very patient with us and our decision. We literally started East (thinking Bahamas) and made our way to the West coast (Los Cabos)! There were many factors: uniqueness, ease of access to location, aesthetics of the hotel/venues/beaches, clean/modern hotel, variety of venues, cost, and of course availability of our dates.
Choose your Partner in Paradise wisely
We hit it off during our first phone call with Shaadi Destinations. I distinctly remember our consultation call and the team’s patience and understanding of what we needed! We were looking for “all inclusive package” and the team at Shaadi Destinations delivered it all with so much ease, especially with helping us find our wedding planner (we had interviewed many planners prior).
Words cannot describe the gratitude we have for the team at Shaadi Destinations. Omesh and I wanted a destination wedding from the beginning and after a short search, we found Milan and his team and knew instantly this was the crew who would make it happen! They were very patient with us from the beginning. It took us several months to narrow down a date and location and we went through it all (Turks and Caicos, Bahamas, Mexico etc), we literally went coast to coast and looked at all options.
The entire Shaadi Destinations team made the process for us and our guests’ very simple. They were there to resolve any issues before, during and after the weekend was over without hesitation. We blindly picked and signed Hard Rock Resort in Cabo, Mexico as they were not even complete with construction when we signed the contract, but it was the best decision. There are not enough stars in the world to rate this team. I highly recommend their service!
I was completely stress free, for the most part. I only had a handful of bridezilla moments but overall Shaadi Destinations made the process really smooth and transparent.
Shaadi Destinations introduced us to a variety of planners they trusted (both in the United States and also in Mexico). Juan Carlos and I hit it off right away! We loved the other wedding planners they had suggested too but we felt an instant connection and that he could materialize our vision… he over-delivered and we were very happy!

Unforgettable memories that we will cherish forever
All of it, literally everything was memorable. I remember sitting while getting my makeup done, staring at the sunny beach and ocean and crying because everything was just so perfect and beautiful. I was completely stress free.
[Guest Appearance by groom Omesh!] Every event provided great memories as they were each planned out with great detail. The scenery at all times was breathtaking. I have told many I wish I was invited to a destination wedding like ours so I could re-live it all again!
My splurges were Sabyasachi outfits and FLOWERS!! Omesh loved the camels!
#Singhing in Paradise
Omesh enjoys singing and has done so for most of his life. He sang to me at our family engagement in Dallas and this became a theme to our wedding. It helped his last name is Singh as well. We recommend making a hashtag that is unique to both of you and this experience in some way.
A Moroccan night in a Mexican paradise
One of our favorite events was our Moroccan themed Mehndi night on the beach! I think this came out way better than what we even envisioned. I had seen some photos on Instagram with some beach parties with the teepees and similar décor…. I remember our planner saying, “I don’t like to do the same thing twice, let me handle it”... so I did and it was everything and more!
A colorful weekend in Baja California Sur
We also managed to pull off a Holi Fest on the beach - it was the MOST memorable event of the entire weekend. Everyone had so much fun and was exhausted for the evening event, but it was totally worth it. Our friends and family still talk about that experience!
A warm series of photos with I Alam
One of the most epic photo series we had from our wedding was the photoshoot at the firepits! We let our photographer take over and just tell us what to do. Ifty and his team are extremely artistic so they had scoped out the property ahead of time. We also had themed and matching outfits that night which made it even better! They really were inspired by lots of online inspirations. I did a lot of Instagram and Pinterest searching. Once I had my outfit set, I matched all the others to it so I ordered them online. Omesh’s vest was custom made to match my sari. My mom and aunts played a huge role in getting all of these things coordinated, ordered, tailored etc.
Adventuring out to The Cape!
We managed to escape Diamante and head out to Cabo San Lucas for a photoshoot at The Cape! This was all Ifty’s inspiration! We had a chat about an engagement photo shoot vision but didn’t really have one. Ifty had picked some locations and let us pick our top one! We loved it.
We also did an amazing photoshoot with our bridesmaids and groomsmen with camels in the desert…. This was all Omesh. We were just bouncing ideas off about baraat ideas and wanted to be super unique… Omesh saw a camel tour advertisement at the hotel during the site visit and was trying to figure out a way to incorporate it into our wedding. He sure did!
